We are currently testing Discord for our new voice chat application.

Discord offers a voice and text chat combination that has many more features than Mumble, and it is free.

No software download is required. However, you can download the app for both your computer and phone or tablet, which enables you to join in on BLE voice chat even without having to access our web site.

Discord has been working well so far.

I use it for guild missions and I know others use it very often.

Best of all, perhaps, is that it works outside of the game via app or browser and it has very handy text chat features.

I have the Discord app on my desktop. I launch GW2, then open the Discord app. In the Discord app, you will see a few different voice channels. Just join the channel you want and you are in.

Look for the User Settings icon and set up your preferred settings. Push to Talk can be set from the Voice tab. (Please use Push to Talk)

While Discord does allow for text chat and posting links, we ask that everyone please keep our parameters for guild chat in mind when posting in Discord text chat.

Once you have Discord loaded, you will need an officer to update the server permissions to enable your voice chat.

With permissions set, go to your User Settings in Discord and verify that you have Push to Talk set as your Input Mode (Voice tab) and a proper keybind (Keybind tab).

To set up Push to Talk in Discord app, go to User Settings/Keybinds, then choose Push to Talk and choose the key you want to use for it.

Also check User Settings/Voice and verify that your Input Mode and Input and Output Devices are the proper selections.

Please keep in mind that the BLE Discord voice channel is intended for the use of Lions only. Guests are welcome to listen in, but voice can only be enabled for Lions.

Discord can easily be set up to create a personal channel for private use with friends and family not in BLE.
