On Sunday at 8PM EST (daily reset), I will be hosting a raid training night. You can now seize the opportunity to learn all of the raid bosses you don't know yet. The goal for this event is to enable all of you to gain the mechanical knowledge to kill any raid boss with a competent group. Here is all the information you need to know below: What Will the Raid Training Be Like?
In the 15 minutes prior to when we begin, I will have a strawpoll that has every boss that I can currently open for us and you will be able to vote for which boss you'd like to learn. The boss with the plurality of votes when we officially begin wins, and in the case of a tie, I will use a random number generator to pick one at random. From there, I will have the proper boss instance opened and will list specific roles that we need filled for the boss in the squad message and people can volunteer for them in order to learn more specialized mechanics. Lastly, we go through the boss step by step and see how well the group does.
How Can I Prepare?
You can start by getting characters geared. The guild Quantify is an EU-based hardcore raiding guild and their website (http://qtfy.eu/builds/) is far and away the best constantly updated source for how to gear your character. Metabattle is okay, but they offer some "unique" and maybe even outdated builds that will only make raiding harder for you, and it may be difficult to pick out the good, the bad, and the ugly when starting out. The other thing I would recommend would be to research the mechanics of a specific boss you'd like to practice beforehand. If you don't know where to start, Vale Guardian, Slothasor, escort, and Cairn the Indomitable are the first encounters in each raid wing and therefore will always be on the list. Once you have done these and determined raiding is right for you, sign up and get your gear tested and checked so we know you're ready to learn. I will allow one free pass for raid training where you can ignore these steps in order to determine if you even want to raid in the first place, but after that I can't allow players into the group until we know they have demonstrated their willingness to get prepared.
Hokk, I have been following the builds at https://metabattle.com/wiki/Raid. They are similar to the ones at the site you referenced, but there are some differences. Do you care if we use those instead? I plan on experimenting with both to see which I like better.
qtfy is generally more up to date than metabattle and metabattle also includes some more "questionable" build choices. They also create the appearance that there are a lot of different builds, but that is not necessarily true because you have to know which builds fit which situation, which qtfy does with their boss effectiveness ratings. For example, the dragonhunter's gs and hammer builds vary greatly in damage and support options. Most groups will expect one, but the other has advantages in specific situations and it's important to understand them. So bottom line, you can use it if you want, but I can't guarantee that I will approve a build from there. I also explained this above in my first post.
