For our newer Lions (and all Lions, really) -

On rare occasions, BLE undertakes a scavenger hunt mission known as a Guild Trek.

While Guild Treks offer no personal reward, mission success does bring prestige and currency to the guild ((merits and influence)).

Ideally, a Guild Trek is done when there are many Lions available to participate, but it can actually be completed by a few well-traveled Lions.

Once the Guild Trek is activated, we are placed on a 20 minute timer to find a number of very specific locations all across Tyria. The number of locations is based on the difficulty level of the Trek; the locations themselves are completely random.

The good news is that there are only a finite number of locations that can be placed into our Trek.

For mission success, it is critical that each participant make use of a guild herald ((this means opening your browser and using the Guild Trek guide)).

We communicate in guild or party chat to let others know which location each person is heading to. Time is of the essence, so there is no time to tarry and no time to overlap and have multiple Lions go to the same spot.

Find a location, interact with the Trek symbol, and look at the mission list to find the next place to get to. Keep going until the timer runs out or we find everything!

HoT made a very nice change to the Guild Treks.

They now include personal reward for participating. The level of the mission (Easy, Medium, Hard) determines the number of locations and the amount of time needed for mission success.

To get personal reward, you either need to be the one who hits F on a trek target location OR be standing on the trek target location when a guildmate hits F.

These are very easy to re-roll to get personal reward for anyone who needs a guild commendation.

There is one GOLDEN RULE for Guild Treks:

NEVER press F to interact with a Trek location marker!

Only the squad commander or subgroup leader will do this.

Treks are very easy to get personal rewards for, but everyone must be in a group hug on the maker BEFORE the F key is pressed. Early press = someone may miss credit.
