((a bulletin hanging on the wall at the Lion's Shadow Inn))
For our newer Lions (and all Lions, really) -
BLE frequently takes advantage of an opportunity to earn some prestige ((merits and influence)) for our guild. One mission type that accomplishes this is known as a Guild Puzzle.
The basic premise is that the participating Lions will be given a timed series of tasks to complete that is in open world, but closed off until the mission timer is started. As the name implies, the puzzles may have jumping puzzle and logic puzzle elements involved. Mesmers with good jumping puzzle skills are invaluable to mission success.
Puzzles require the greatest amount of preplanning and organization to pull off successfully. The timer is not only for the full puzzle mission, but within each mission are individual rooms/areas that have their own timed tasks, and these rooms/areas will get closed off quickly, so it is imperative to stick with the group in order to complete the puzzle.
It takes more Lions for puzzles than other mission types. However, we often are able to combine our forces with other guilds that are actively working the same puzzle. I highly recommend consulting our herald ((ble.guildwork.com)) for further study guides on Guild Puzzles.
There are only three Guild Puzzle missions currently available (the numbers indicate Magnus' personal rankings of favorite to least favorite):
Angvar's Trove - Snowden Drifts - this one does require some actual jumping puzzle elements in it and a very coordinated effort to complete the final room. (3) Langmar Estate - Plains of Ashford - minimal (or no) jumping puzzle elements but each room requires very specific coordination to complete (2) Proxemic Labs - Brisban Wildlands - two jumping puzzle sequences and a complicated labyrinth final room, but less overall group coordination necessary to complete. Though not required reading, this handbook outlines many good tips for contributing to the rush missions with efficiency that most asura could appreciate.
((We normally do guild puzzles as a chance for Lions to earn the weekly personal reward and earn the guild reward of bonus merits and influence if we succeed in the rush. As with all guild missions, the weekly rewards reset on Saturdays at daily reset time)).
